Kachāshī (カチャーシー) is a form of festive Okinawan folk dance. In Okinawa, it is often a feature of celebrations such as weddings and victory festivities after Okinawan wrestling matches and, yes, even public elections. The dance is usually accompanied by the sanshin and drum, and punctuated with finger whistling known as yubi-bue (指笛).

The next time I get stinking drunk, I’ll try to dance with a 1.8ℓ bottle of Sakimoto awamori on my head.
